Usability Engineering/Human Factors Engineering Project Lead
Your Tasks
You love usability and human factors engineering? You enjoy developing medical devices? You relish facing new challenges and grow your knowledge? Than this position might be just for you! As Usability Engineering/Human Factors Engineering Project Lead you take responsible for complex medical device projects in the human factors area and are the number one contact point for our customers.
- Planning, Conducting and Managing Usability and Human Factors Engineering Projects with our Customers including human factors validation studies (national and international)
- Developing international regulatory usability and human factors strategies for our clients and creating the corresponding documentation throughout the entire development process, including the integration of user feedback, while also taking into account concurrent regulatory requirements (primarily ISO 14971 and ISO 13485)
- Pre-project and in-project consultation of the customers, winning new projects/follow-up projects
- Represent the company at trade shows and conferences with your special topic
Your skills
- PhD or comparable in Human Factors, Social Science, Psychology, Design, IT or comparable
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- High level of competence in at least one of the following areas:
- User research methodology (preferably with a medical background)
- Regulatory consultation and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements (IEC 62366-1; FDA guidelines) (preferred)
- Ability and willingness to familiarize yourself quickly with new products and fields of application
- Very strong communication skills with C1 or C2 level English and German in written and spoken language; additional languages are welcome and beneficial
- Experience in the medical device development (ideally usability engineering)
- Willingness to travel for studies and customer meetings – core work happens in Darmstadt or remote

- First meeting: If we find your documents suitable, we will invite you to a first meeting. This takes place remotely and lasts about 30 minutes. Afterwards, you and we will have a better picture of each other – and can decide whether we are a good fit.
- Interview/trial work: If we both conclude that we could be a good fit for each other, we will take the next step. We will invite you to an on-site interview. This will give us an opportunity to talk in more depth and allow you to get to know our premises and the team. Depending on the role, there will also be a trial work period during which you can familiarize yourself with typical tasks and try them out.
- Contract & onboarding: Everything fits? Then the next step is the employment contract and onboarding.
